TDS student leader(s) will hand out safety cards with Smarties candy attached. Cards can have messaging, such as: “Always be smart about buckling up”, “Be a smartie, don’t drink and drive”, “Smart drivers don’t drive drowsy”, “Driving the speed limit is the smart thing to do.”
Don’t Be a Dum-Dum! Activity
Canvas the school parking lot with DUM DUM candies that have safety messages to leave them on windshield wipers or other areas where they’ll be seen by students.
Musical Safety Driving Chairs
Play musical chairs using safety messaging on chairs. When a person is eliminated they read the crash stats or safety message taped to their chair.
Dress Up Days
Have fun dress up days to get everyone involved in learning about teen driving dangers. Sunglasses remind about the dangers of driving at night; pajama bottoms about drowsy driving; and seat belts about buckling up.
