You in the Driver Seat App

Now available for download on the Apple IOS App Store!

It is very simple; each trip starts off with a Driving Score of 100 points. 20 points will be deducted for each driving infraction such as distracted driving (a phone call, texting, moving away from the app, etc.) or speeding. Should the user score less than 100 points, they will not be eligible for any rewards but will be notified of their driving score, the points lost due to poor driving behavior and tips on how they can improve. Only a Driving Score of 100, otherwise known as a Safe Trip, will be eligible for receiving rewards.

How the App Works

The app works by providing drivers with a Driving Score of 100 points. 20 points will be deducted for each driving infraction such as distracted driving (a phone call, texting, moving away from the app, etc.) or excessive speeding 80 mph or higher.

Understanding Your Driving Score

If the Driving Score is less than 100 points, they will not be eligible for any rewards but will be notified of their Driving Score, the points lost due to poor driving behavior and tips on how they can improve. Only a Driving Score of 100, otherwise known as a Safe Trip, will be eligible for receiving rewards. The number of miles traveled for each Safe Trip are multiplied by 5 to total the amount of points earned.
Infraction Example: Driving Score of 80 and trip length of 10 miles = 0 points awarded and 50 points missed. Zero Infraction (Safe Trip) Example: Driving Score of 100 and trip length of 10 miles = 50 points awarded.

Rewards

The points earned per Safe Trip dictate the Star Level and rewards that the user is eligible for.

250 Points 5,000 Points = $30 in Gift Cards
1,000 Points = $10 Gift Card 10,000 Points = $40 in Gift Cards
2,500 Points = $20 in Gift Cards

You can also earn rewards based on the total number of safe trips you earn.

10 Safe Trips = $10 Gift Card
25 Safe Trips = $20 in Gift Cards
50 Safe Trips = $30 in Gift Cards
75 Safe Trips = $40 in Gift Cards
100 Safe Trips = $50 in Gift Cards

Safe Trip Streak Badges

For every 3 consecutive Safe Trips the user earns a Safe Streak Badge, up to a streak of 15 Safe Trips. Earning these badges makes the user eligible for random rewards given out in accordance with teen traffic related events such as National Teen Driver Safety Week and other contests that Teens in the Driver Seat might hold.

YDS App & the Teens in the Driver Seat Program

Teens in the Driver Seat (TDS) students can earn All-Stars Points when they use the app and encourage their classmates to do the same. For every 5 students at a school that reaches 1,000 points within the app, the school will be awarded 5 TDS All-Stars Points. The school must be an active school with Teens in the Driver Seat. *Limit 20 All-Stars Points per school.
