Large Truck and Bus Safety Toolkit

Respect the Rig learning event

Get All-Stars credit for this activity!

Through generous support from Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, TDS is offering a limited number of Respect the Rig learning opportunities for school and community events. These can be socially distant activities on your campus with a large truck and safety expert. Please contact your regional representative for more information and assistance in scheduling.

Focus Factor

This activity can be used to learn about the dangers of distracted driving and how you can speak up as a passenger. This activity can be completed individually or as a team and is a quick and easy activity that requires minimal materials.

Lock-In with Community Partnering

Work with a local business or your school to host a lock-in on one of the most dangerous nights of the year for teen drivers, such as graduation or homecoming. Find sponsors, like a local pizza joint to donate food and drinks.

Lunch Tray Decorating

Assemble/decorate disposable lunch trays with safe driving messages on them.

Report Card Messaging

Add summer driving safety information to student’s report card and send home on the last day of school.
