Pedestrian Obstacle Course
Show the dangers of being distracted while walking. Students go through the course with and without being distracted while timed and are evaluated by time and number of objects knocked over.
Memory Challenge Activity
The goal of this activity is to challenge people to use their memory with two sets of words before and after distractions are introduced. Discussion should include the comparison between the number of words recalled with and without distractions.
Sentence Strips
To learn about different statistics on all five risks. Students will be engaged by reading each strip and determining which pieces go together to form a complete sentence.
M&M Madness
Peer pressure is a very real reality. Group decision making is much harder than making a decision on your own. This activity explores decision making and peer pressure and discusses what happens when you have more people effecting your decision.
