All-Stars Pedestrian Safety

Pedestrian safety guided outreach. Suggested timeline, 3 consecutive weeks. Earn $200 upon completion.

Complete all required activities to get credit for this risk unit. Submit your activities with an Event/Activity Form. You can either submit them one at a time or add more than one to each form.

Required Activities
  • Zero Hero – Distracted Walkers: Requirements must be met before beginning another Zero Hero activity.
  • At least 3 focused activities
Required Activities

  • At least 2 focused activities
Focused Activities (choose 3 from the following):
  • Navigating Your Neighborhood Virtual Activity
  • Walkability Tour
  • Pedestrian Bingo
  • Pedestrian Obstacle Course
  • Pedestrian Relay Race
  • Are you Street Smart? Virtual Activity
  • Tablets (big rig and pedestrian) (request from TDS*)
  • All-Risk focused activities (must be related to the risk your team is completing)

*TDS items are only available for select areas on a first-come, first-served basis for a limited borrow time.

Focused Activities (choose 2 from the following):
  • Navigating Your Neighborhood Virtual Activity
  • Walkability Tour
  • Pedestrian Bingo
  • Pedestrian Obstacle Course
  • Pedestrian Relay Race
  • Are you Street Smart? Virtual Activity
  • Tablets (big rig and pedestrian) (request from TDS*)
  • All-Risk focused activities (must be related to the risk your team is completing)

All-Risk Focused Activities

Type of Activity Activities
Multiple-Use Guided Activities Activities that can be completed multiple times, and should be focused on the risk they are submitted for:

  • Kahoot!
  • Flashcards
  • Guest speaker/presenter
  • What would you do? Activity
  • Dress up Day
  • Interactive activity your team has created*

*Interactive activities – the audience is actively engaged, learning, and participating – a two-way flow of information.

One-time Activities These activities will only be counted once per All-Star period, but can fulfill any focused risk activity requirement:

  • Enter Driving the Message Contest (at least 1 video or 3 posters)
  • Pledge Banner Signing
  • Virtual Escape Room
  • School Announcements
  • Driving Simulator (all risks) – from TDS* (only available in select areas)
  • Tabletop Simulator (all-risks) – from TDS* (only available in select areas)

*TDS items are only available for select areas on a first-come, first-served basis for a limited borrow time.

Safety Fair If your team conducts a Safety Fair, each interactive/learning station will be counted towards the appropriate risk-focused outreach. Report each station/activity within the activity form.
