Junior High School Activity

Bulletin boards in high-traffic areas provide you with a great opportunity to reach your peers. If included in your kit, use the “Together We Get There Safely” bulletin board resources provided in your resource kit to create a bulletin board that provides valuable information and starts a conversation about impaired driving. These materials are designed to be cut out and displayed on a bulletin board, window, or other high-traffic area on your campus.

Items Needed

“Together We Get There Safely” Bulletin Board materials
Stapler or tape
Bulletin board, window, or wall in high-traffic area

Steps

Identify a location that students pass by frequently to post the “Together We Get There Safely” materials.
Cut out bulletin board materials to be posted. A sample layout is provided but feel free to layout however you choose, making sure the educational information is correct.
Promote the bulletin board by sharing information about speaking up against impaired driving during morning announcements.
Plan to leave the bulletin board up 3-4 weeks to ensure all students see it.
Take photos during the activity and share them, along with information on distracted driving, on your school’s social media channels and/or website.
Complete an activity form to get All-Star credit.

Don’t Forget

The goal of this activity is to have an easy-to-manage but educational activity that looks different from a poster to help students learn more about the importance of speaking up against impaired driving.
