The Teens in the Driver Seat (TDS) Safe Driving Summit is an annual event that takes place near the end of the school year. Teens, teachers, and safety professionals gather to build alliances and spread awareness about teen driving dangers. To further spread the life-saving TDS message, we are hosting the TDS Summit on May 20-22, in San Antonio, Texas. The two-day event will consist of workshops, interactive learning experiences, and an awards brunch to recognize student leaders in bringing awareness about this problem to their peers, their families and their community.
TDS has 15 years of experience as a peer-to-peer education and outreach program that has now been active in over 1,250 high schools and junior high schools across Texas, Georgia, Nebraska, Colorado, California and 33 other states. Join us as we celebrate exciting anniversaries of this life-saving program – 15 years partnering with TxDOT and 10 years partnering with State Farm! We are grateful to these wonderful organizations for helping keep our drive alive and making our communities safer across Texas and the United States.

Presenters will utilize higher-order thinking strategies through hands-on lessons and activities while also applying differentiated instruction designed to engage attendees with all types of learning styles. Participants will also gain access to various free resources related to traffic safety education in order to facilitate the creation of a traffic safety culture at their school.
