Zero Hero – Distracted Walkers Summary of Results 2021 – 2022

During the 2021-2022 school year, Teens in the Driver Seat (TDS)launched the 1st annual Zero Hero activity to decrease electronic device use among teen pedestrians. The activity, Zero Hero, is in its 9th year and consists of a pre-observation, three weeks of messaging, a post-observation, and a $50 gift card for schools that completed and returned all observation data. The activity was offered to all program schools. Six schools completed all requirements.

High school and junior high school student teams were asked to observe teen walkers near their school campus and record if they were or were not visibly using an electronic device.

Questions regarding data may be directed to Christine Yager at [email protected].
