Secretary of State , Hope Andrade, hosted Teens in the Driver Seat for a Day at the Capitol on May 4.
The day started with the new 2012-2013 Teens in the Driver Seat Teen Advisory Board holding their first meeting, officially beginning the duties of new members and completing the duties of the out-going members. The board members and TDS staff then had a working lunch where program ideas and upcoming events were shared.
After lunch, Ms. Andrade held a ceremony for the invited guests, where she presented Texas Teens in the Driver Seat Cup awards, SponStar awards and recognized TAB members with signed proclamations. She also recognized Teens in the Driver Seat partners, Texas Department of Transportation, Houston-Galveston Area Council, and State Farm Texas Zone, and thanked them for helping support such an important cause.
Ms. Andrade was complimentary of the program and all those involved in making it such a success, not only in Texas, but the other states where students help save lives every day.
