In 2019 there were 91,560 young driver (ages 16-25) involved car crashes in the Greater Houston region, and car crashes are a leading cause of death and serious injury for youth nationwide.
This workshop is a new approach to preventing car crashes – something that’s never been done in the transportation safety sector. The team hopes to forge new partnerships with young adults in the Houston area and give them the tools to talk to peers about safety and/or apply it in the workplace.
The Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), in partnership with The Red Duke Trauma Institute at Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center, would like to announce an upcoming virtual training series scheduled for Thursday, June 17, 2021. Times are dependent on a majority registrants’ schedules. Please sign-up and select all available times.
The training is designed for young adults (18-25) who are interested in injury prevention and are not familiar with traffic safety or work directly in the transportation field. The 2 hour workshop is free and a certificate of completion will be given to participants. TTI is happy to help those seeking continuing education hours in their respective field.
Registration closes June 9, 2021.
This project is funded by Safe States and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
