Show off your leadership skills and earn a TDS graduation cord*

As a leader on your campus, you probably already know that new drivers are at the highest risk of vehicle crashes. So, to help young adults learn more about the risks they face behind the wheel, we are challenging YOU – our TDS seniors – to take the lead in your team’s peer-to-peer outreach and become an advocate for traffic safety within your school and community.

In addition to earning a graduation cord for yourself, you will also be helping your team in their quest to be an All-Star school and earn cash rewards throughout the year.

The All-Star program allows your team to complete risk units and earn rewards. By taking the lead on the activities for just one of these units, you could earn your graduation cord. Or you can pick and choose the activities you want to lead from various units throughout the year – it is completely up to you!

To complete the Extra Mile Project, follow these steps:

  1. SIGN UP by January 31, 2024
  2. PLAN & PARTICIPATE IN 1 REQUIRED ACTIVITY
  3. PLAN & LEAD 2 FOCUSED ACTIVITIES
    Focused activity information can be found on each individual Risk Unit page. If you have an idea for an activity not listed, please email us for approval.
  4. LET US KNOW YOU COMPLETED AN ACTIVITY BY INCLUDING YOUR NAME AND ROLE on the activity form when submitting your team’s activities for credit. 
    Only one student can plan and lead a Focused Activity while multiple students can plan and participate in a Required Activity. If this occurs, make sure you include the names of all Extra Mile students who planned and participated on the activity form.
  5. SUBMIT your Completion Form via email by NO LATER THAN April 12, 2024.

*It is your responsibility to check with your school administration to ensure cord may be worn during graduation. Your cord will be sent to your TDS sponsor once all documents are received.
