Pedestrian Obstacle Course

Show the dangers of being distracted while walking. Students go through the course with and without being distracted while timed and are evaluated by time and number of objects knocked over.

 Items Needed

For the obstacle course setup:
  • Cones (provided by TDS)
  • Yardsticks (provided by TDS)
  • Rubber Chicken for distraction (provided by TDS)
  • Stop Light (provided by TDS)
  • 1 roll of colored painters tape
  • Cardstock Paper for these signs

Running your obstacle course activity:

  • Notepad with a pen or cell phone
  • Stopwatch
  • Scorecards
  • TDS educational items

 Steps

  1. All steps, tips, and images are included in this download.
  2. Take pictures to send to us and post on social media and your website.
  3. Complete an activity form for TDS All-Star credit.

 Make it GREAT

  • Print out “School Zone,” “Road Work Ahead,” and “Pedestrian Crossing” signs.
  • Tape the signs on the cones throughout the course
