“”Whether you’re driving or riding, put your phone down.”
Ximena Chapa, Age 15

Q: Why are you involved in the Teens in the Driver Seat® program and what do you like most about being a part of the team?
A: I am involved in this program because it’s a great way to inform myself and others of the dangers of not being focused while driving and how to stay safe while driving. What I like the most about being part of the team is that we get to teach each other and learn new lesson of driving safely.

Q: If you could change one thing about the way your friends drive or ride in the car, what would it be?
A: One thing I would change is to have them not use their phones while driving. Using phones while someone drives puts the passengers in a huge risk of getting into an accident that could have been prevented.

Q: What hashtags would your best friend or person you are closest to use to describe you?
A: #awesomesauce #menathegreat #heartofgold #pureheart #bff

Q: Who do you look up to and why?

A: The person I look up to the most is my mother. She’s always telling me to show my kindness to the world, help anyone in need, and not look down on others when someone needs to believe in them.

Q: What would you say to inspire other teens to care more about safe driving/traffic safety?
A: One thing I’d say to inspire other teens to drive safely would be to have them think of the innocent lives of others that they put at risk of endangering if they don’t change now.
