- Community Outreach
- Branding Opportunities
- Connecting to teens and their families
By partnering with Teens in the Driver Seat® you will have access to:
- Participating high schools and junior highs in your area
- Community events
- Resources and on-going support from a Teens in the Driver Seat® Regional Representative
A State Farm agent’s role:
Step 1—Your State Farm Public Affairs Specialist will contact you if a school signs up for the Teens in the Driver Seat program
- Your Teens in the Driver Seat® Regional Representative will introduce you, via email, to the team’s teacher/sponsor as an additional local resource. You will receive a copy of this introduction.
- If there are multiple agents in your area, the school may receive a list of available agents
Step 2—Say “Hi” to the school contact
- Let the school know what support you are able to provide, such as a presentation to students, giveaway items with your information, safety information, etc.
Step 3—Stay in contact with the school
- Email the teacher/sponsor periodically to remind them of support you are able to offer
Supporting the program:
The level of support with the school is up to you. The Regional Representative will automatically stay in contact with the school and provide communication support, as well as other program resources. You can be involved with the program as little or much as you want. For example, you may choose to:
- Help schools plan an activity calendar for the entire year – one is included in their start-up kit.
- Check in with schools to see how they are doing.
- Submit “Agent’s Articles” during National Teen Driver Safety Week in October or anytime throughout the year.
- Offer to speak to student groups and their parents.
- Reward active schools at the end of the year with a pizza party.
- Sponsor school activities through monetary or supplemental promo items (active schools may run out of free promo items and need additional items to keep activities going).
Program promotional items:
Each year, participating schools are allowed to order a limited number of educational items at no charge. You may also choose to supply schools additional items, ordered and purchased on your own.
