- Select a date, place, and time to conduct your Be A Lifesaver! activity. Choose a location where you can interact with lots of people such as sporting events, open house, before and after school, or during lunch.
- Decide on messaging then create and assemble cards. Be creative!
Here are a few examples to get you started:
- “Be a Lifesaver and drive distraction-free for you and me.”
- “Be a Lifesaver and never drive impaired. If you feel different, you drive different.”
- “Be a Lifesaver and be a leader, not a speeder.”
- “Be a Lifesaver and buckle up every ride, every time.”
- “Be a Lifesaver and be a safe driver at night and never drive drowsy.”
- “Be a Lifesaver and never distract the driver.”
- “Be a Lifesaver and speak up for your safety and the safety of others while on the road.”
- Think about what you will say when handing the cards out. You could say something like, “Car crashes are one of the leading causes of injury and death for teens. Be a Lifesaver and…”
- Hand out cards to your peers, teachers, parents, and administrators.
- Post photos of your team creating and handing out cards on your social media channels to further promote the message of safe driving and tag @teensdriverseat so we can see your great work, too.
- Submit an online activity form to get credit for your efforts.
Make this activity socially distanced by placing Lifesavers and messaging on a table so students can take one as they pass. The TDS team member can monitor from a safe distance away. |
