Hand Out Safety Messaging With Candy

Spread the safety message of your choice during different holidays or traffic safety months, for example; Valentine’s day, St. Patrick’s day, National Teen Driver Safety week, or prom season.

 Items Needed

  • Paper or cutouts of graphics
  • Printer or markers/pens
  • Scissors
  • Candy (optional)& tape
  • TDS volunteers

 Steps

  • Set up a time to hand craft the safety messages with your volunteers.
  • Come up with safety messaging around the driver risk of your choice. There are tons of facts and statistics on our website.
  • Type up and cut out the messages.
  • Tape or tie candy to the message (optional)
  • Decide on when and where you’ll hand out the safety messages –during lunch, in the mornings at dropoffs, or after school placing on people’s car (social distancing).
  • Conduct activity and take pictures to send to us and post on social media.
  • Complete an activity form for TDS All-Star points. If in Texas, submit affidavit or sign in sheets.

 Make it GREAT

  • If spreading the message around a certain holiday, like Valentine’s Day, put them on hearts.
  • Consider putting the TDS logo on your messages.
  • If your team has a social media page, ask them to follow you!
