The Texas Association of Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) held their statewide leadership conference on April 8-10, at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel.
Teens in the Driver Seat (TDS) Regional Representatives exhibited at the conference, which was themed “Beyond the Limits.”
According to their website, “FCCLA is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in family and consumer sciences education in public and private school, grades 7- 12.”
The first general session was from Brad McCoy from Graham, Texas, who spoke to delegates about the importance of leadership. McCoy has been in the public education system for 26 years as a coach, teacher, and for the last 19 years, an athletic director.
The conference even had a leadership track, which included a session on texting and the law, self image, and career exploration.
