I just heard about the young driver who swerved to avoid hitting a dog and instead hit a teenage pedestrian. In driving school they tell students that if a dog is on the road and you cannot safely stop or avoid it you must hit the dog so as not to endanger human lives. How many drivers actually follow this rule? I have seen people stop in the middle of highways to avoid hitting a dog. It makes me think if I was in a situation where a dog ran out into the street in front of my car what will I do? What would you do?
