On May 14, Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas and Interim Superintendent Dr. Ronald McLeod proclaimed the month of May as “Safe Teen Driving Month.” Vidal M. Treviño School of Communications and Fine Arts hosted the proclamation ceremony.
The press release announced May 11 said, “With proms and graduations around the corner, it is important to stress the importance of safe teen driving.”
Vidal M. Treviño School of Communications and Fine Arts has put a lot of effort into their TDS program this year, and their hard work has paid off. They won several TDS end-of-year awards, including TDS 2008-2009 Outstanding School and third place in the Driving the Message contest for their scrapbook entry. They also had two TDS Sponstar award winners and two students have been selected to participate on the TDS Teen Advisory Board.
