I was getting off work on a Friday night, it had been a busy day and I was so glad to be off. I was driving home on just the same route of any other day. I stopped at the intersection of course because of a red light. Then when the light turned green it was obviously my time to go. I was so close to the other side of the street when all of a sudden I saw bright headlights just flash through the passenger side window. I heard the brakes of the another car’s tires burning rubber and I suddenly felt my car start to go around in circles. I was in shock this was my first car crash in my whole entire life. The other driver was distracted on her phone and speeding thinking she could make it before I got there, causing me to spin over the curb and land in the nearby gas station. This was definitely one of the most eye opening experiences of my life. I hope that everyone who is reading this is careful wherever they go and always wear their seat belt. During this experience I learned to encourage my family, friends, and myself to never drive distracted and always drive at the speed limit.
**From TDS: It’s also important to look both ways before starting through an intersection. Even if you have the green light!**
