Most people think that once they pass their driving test, they’ll never have to take another one. For drivers in Florida this won’t always be the case. A law was passed last month the will require drivers who have received three crash-related moving violations within a three year period to take a behind-the-wheel class and retake their driving test.
The new law goes in effect January 1, 2010. Current law requires drivers who have been received two crash-related moving violations to take a four hour driver safety course.
Could your state be next?
As of right now, Florida is the only state that will has passed this law, but in the future it could happen in others. And this year, several states have tightened up on laws that effect teen drivers, Texas being one of them.
