Impaired Driving Prevention – Prom Kit

Help prevent Impaired Driving around prom.

 Items Needed

  • Printer
  • Paper (up to 11×17)
  • TDS volunteers

 Steps

  1. Download and print the following items you’d like to use
    1. Hanging tags
    2. Pledge cards
    3. Tiara and bow tie cut outs
    4. 11×17 poster
  2. Set up a table with items.
  3. Make sure you also let your peers know the risk of impaired driving for new drivers. Prom season is an especially dangerous time. Let them know graduation is right around the corner and you all want to graduate together.
  4. Place all pledge cards together on a bulletin board until prom is over.
  5. Take photos of students in their tiaras and bow ties to post on social media or print for the bulletin board.
  6. As always, complete an activity form for All-Stars credit. We would also love to see and share your photos!
This can be a socially distanced activity by sending out the files to students, asking them to print the resource, and snapping a photo of themselves to post it on social media with a promise to not drink and drive around prom. If completing in school, place items on a table and allow students to come up one at a time to complete the pledge and/or the cutouts.

 Make it GREAT

Let the media or community partners know you are doing this activity. Partners may be able to provide prizes (a drawing can be held) for students willing to take the pledge.
