- Downloadable Focus Factor – Match the Facts worksheet
- Scissors
- Envelopes, small ziplock bags, or paper clips – to keep the strips together
- Distraction-focused tattoos, stickers, or wristbands found in your resource kit to reward participants

Steps
|
- Download and print the Focus Factor – Match the Facts worksheet. You will need to determine if students will do the activity individually or as part of teams to know how many copies of the sentence strips to print. Print only one copy of the answer key.
- Cut the sentence strips out, mix them up, and place in envelope, bag, or clip together.
- To play, hand out sets of sentence strips (to individuals or teams). For team play, have each team sit together at a table or in a circle on the floor.
- Allow 3-5 minutes to match the strips to create accurate facts.
- When time is up, ask each individual/team to share a fact with the group, giving them an opportunity to correct any mismatched statements.
- Talk about distracted driving and how it leads to crashes. Encourage students to discuss ways they can speak up as a passenger when they see a distracted driver.
- Post photos of your team completing this activity on your social media channels to further promote the message of safe driving and tag @teensdriverseat so we can see your great work too!
- Submit an event/activity form to get All-Star credit.
