On October 1st, Hillcrest Hospital’s Teen Safe program held the first Waco Teen Safe Driving Summit. Fifteen high schools from the surrounding area brought five teens each to attend the Summit.
Goals of the Summit included:
- Calling attention to the number-one killer of teenagers in America; car crashes,
- Educating teens on the best ways to spread the message,
- And introducing the area high schoolers to local resources that can help them spread the message.
There were also three workshops that students could choose to attend — Thinking Outside the Box: Planning a successful marketing campaign for your school; Identifying and soliciting local business to join your effort; and Finding resources and best practices (for sponsors).
Teens in the Driver Seat Waco-area representatives attended the Summit to present the TDS program to the teens. They were also part of the Finding resources and best practices panel.
