Delilah Lopez, C.C. Winn High School, October 2020 Teen of the Month

“If life hits you with a challenge, don’t ever give up — come back stronger.”
Delilah Lopez, age 15.

Q: Why are you involved in the Teens in the Driver Seat® program and what do you like most about being a part of the team?
A:
I am involved because I want to make sure I will be a safe driver. I want to learn more so I know what to expect when I get on the road.

Q: If you could change one thing about the way your friends drive or ride in the car, what would it be?
A: I would want them to be more cautious, not to speed and be aware of all their surroundings.

Q: Where do you see yourself in five years?
A: In five years I see my self going after my career and pursuing my goals and dreams. I want to be at my dream college. working towards my degree. I want to be living my best life with the the people I love. I want to have a good mindset and not give up when times get tough.

Q: Who do you look up to?
A: I look up to my grandparents. They are the strongest, most hard working people I know.

Q: What would you say to inspire other teens to care more about safe driving/traffic safety?
A: Safe driving is so important. You should be careful on the road, because if something happens to you behind the wheel involving another vehicle, you would feel so guilty. Be safe and learn your safety rules, its important because the world is unpredictable.

Q: What’s the biggest life lesson you’ve learned?
A: If life hits you with a challenge don’t ever give up, come back stronger.
