Catch the CRZY Spring Distracted Driving Results

CRZY banner

During the Spring of 2015, Teens in the Driver Seat (TDS) supported an activity to decrease electronic use among teen drivers at TDS schools. The activity, named Catch the CRZY!, consisted of a pre-observation, three weeks of messaging, a post-observation, and a pizza party for the schools that completed and returned all observation data. The activity was offered to all program schools. Thirty-five schools signed up to complete the activity, twenty-five completed the pre-observations and eighteen of those returned all data that was completed correctly. These results were sent to the school, along with a $100 gift card to congratulate them on their achievements after only three weeks of outreach and related messaging. Catch the CRZY is available for TDS school every fall and spring. Watch for sign up information.

High school student teams were asked to observe teen drivers and log if they were or were not visibly using an electronic device. Junior High student teams were asked to observe adult drivers log electronic use.
