In a resolution passed by the U.S. House of Representatives, the initiative was brought on by a member of FocusDriven. FocusDriven is an advocacy group that aims toward eliminating the practice of driving while distracted.
Distracted driving can be any of the following:
- Texting while driving,
- Talking on the phone while driving,
- Too many teen passengers in the car with you,
- Playing a game or checking your email while driving,
- Eating while driving, or
- Anything else that takes your attention away from the most important thing you’re doing – DRIVING.
