Getting my lunch today I was a victim of what most of us call “road rage.” I define this as overly aggressive behavior that drivers demonstrate because of stress. Being that it is a Monday my guess is that this guy was stressed. Going down this back road the speed limit is 45mph. I was doing 45 and the girl in the next lane was also doing 45. After 3 minutes of tailgating the girl beside me, stressed out guy manages to freak her out and she speeds up just a tad. With enough space to cut me off he does just that, gives me the finger, and speeds off. I yelled at him, shook my fist in his direction, but my window was up. How rude. Then I started laughing, how ironic it was for me to yell at him I participated in my own definition of road rage.

It's no revelation that children and teens practice similar behaviors that they've seen growing up. Learned behaviors develop by watching and mimicking. When it comes to driving, this may be a very bad thing. Road rage is one thing that can be picked up by a teen, from years of watching their parent rant and rave behind the wheel.
