It’s that time of year again: time to wake up early, roll out of bed and head back to school. Teens in the Driver Seat (TDS) wants to remind you to start out safe, and stay safe, this school year!
The top five risks for teen drivers are driving at night, distractions (cell phones, too many teen passengers), speeding or racing, not wearing a safety belt, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Here are a few friendly tips to keep you safe whether you’re driving or riding to school, or going anywhere else in a car:

On October 1st, Hillcrest Hospital’s Teen Safe program held the first Waco Teen Safe Driving Summit. Fifteen high schools from the surrounding area brought five teens each to attend the Summit.
