Safe teen driving at Columbus High School

Columbus Cardinals

The Columbus High School mascot is the cardinal.

Columbus High School (in Columbus, Texas), one of the newest schools to adopt the Teens in the Driver Seat (TDS) program, is using school morning announcements to spread the word about the dangers of teen driving.

On the second Tuesday of each month, safe driving messages, courtesy of the TDS team, are a part of the morning announcements at Columbus High School.

The team also regularly sets up a table in the school cafeteria to educate their peers about how to drive smarter.

Every year almost 6,000 teens die in car crashes, making them the number-one cause of death for that age group. Educating teens on the dangers involved can increase awareness and keep them safer.
