My son Anthony J Meyer Jr.
My son Anthony was walking home on the night of 10/23/08 from a football game. At 8:15 pm I received a phone call (a mother’s worse nightmare). I was informed that Anthony was hit by a car. Due to the injuries that Anthony sustained he was in ICU less then 24 hours and he went to be with the Lord on 10/24/08. Anthony was 18 years old, just started college, and was just starting to spread his wings. Anthony is my first born. It’s a parents WORSE NIGHTMARE to bury one of their children. The driver of the car at the time was 15 and had a hardship license. I was told by our city police that the driver of the car was not breaking any law. The driver was on the way to the store by their self to get art supplies for a school project. I need some clarification here. If anyone can help me please. I was told by many DPS that hardship license has restrictions. What are the restrictions??? I have been on many web pages and nothing is specific. Since my son Anthony J Meyer Jr I have been researching A LOT of safety issues for pedestrians. Few to mention are State Safe Routes to School, and Transportation For America. I want to help prevent this nightmare, broken heart, for the next family. I love you Anthony you are always in my heart and on my mind. Love Mom
