Don’t Ride with Drunk Drivers

Last year my friend Tasha had begged her parents to let her go to this party. Her parents said no that she could not go because there would be alcohol there. Tasha rebelled. After her parents went to sleep, she took their Chrysler 300 and went to the party. She went and had a good time and met a cute guy. It was getting late and she decided to head home. She felt that she was a little too “tipsy” to drive home. But this cute guy that she just met convinced her that he was perfectly fine to drive. Not knowing what would be at stake, she handed him the keys. On the way to her house there was a huge hill that we call “roller coaster hill.” It is very steep and unsafe. The driver of Tasha’s parents’ car was going extremely fast (the police report estimated 90 mph.) The vehicle went airborne and crashed into a pine tree. The driver only sustained minor injuries and fled the scene leaving poor Tasha to die alone. She was claimed dead on arrival at the hospital later that night around 3 a.m. (Tasha was only 15 years old when she passed.) The driver of the car was never found nor prosecuted. I just want to let everyone know that a good time at a party is not worth it! Don’t ever drink! Don’t ever ride with a drunk driver! It could happen to you! You are just kids! You aren’t invincible! I don’t want anyone to ever have to go through what the friends and family of Tasha went through! R.I.P. Tasha Brewer. 1992-2007
