TDS Advisors meet for second time

The Teens in the Driver Seat (TDS) Teen Advisory Board (TAB) had their second meeting via conference call on August 27. This is the first meeting the group has had since the inaugural meeting in July.

Eight of the 13 TAB members participated in the meeting, including Oscar Cortez, Cori Hash, Jaywin Malhi, Brianda Reyes, Danielle Silva, Fernando Sosa, Ashley Thompson and Albert Torres.

The TAB group decided the following in their meeting:

• They will meet monthly via conference call and quarterly in person,
• Members will try to attend the TDS Summit in El Paso, and will be leading one of the workshops there,
• The group will be represented by a “chair” and “co-chair” and will hold elections in October,
• And they will also continue to spread the safe-driving message throughout their communities.

In part, the purpose of the Teen Advisory Board is to ensure ongoing input and feedback from representative teens. The TAB also serves to constantly strengthen the TDS program.
