It’s that time of year again – Spring Break

This spring break may mean many things for you—road trip with friends, lazy days at the beach, or just a needed vacation from school. Whatever the holiday may bring for you, T-driver.com wants to make sure you use extra care since you can expect a lot more drivers on the road.

Follow these safety tips when getting ready for your vacation:

• Driving at Night – If you are going on a long trip, where you have to drive at night, take turns driving. Also whoever rides shotgun, stay awake to keep the driver company.
• Distractions – On a long road trip, if you stop somewhere to get food, go inside and eat, don’t try to multitask by eating and driving. Distractions at night increases possibility for accidents more.
• Speeding – Leave early, so you don’t need to speed to your destination.
• Seat Belt Use – Make buckling up the first thing you do when you get in the car. Road trips increase your time on the road, which also increases your chances of getting into a crash.
• Drinking and Driving – Simply put, don’t do it. And remember that driving while you are tired is just as bad as driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 (which is illegal in most states). Get plenty of rest before leaving to make sure you’re not driving drowsy. Also, be aware of others on the road who may be driving impaired.
